MCAPP Engineering Program

Math, Chemistry & Physics Preparation

The Math, Chemistry, and Physics Preparation (MCAPP) program at Bevill State Community College is a pre-Engineering program designed to prepare students for success in an Engineering career. Students receive personalized attention, tutoring services, and hands-on learning opportunities in the first two years of their Engineering major in preparation for transfer to a four-year university. Bevill State is one of the nation's leading community colleges for Engineering preparation, and has sent numerous students to the next level of their education with scholarships and internship training.

MCAPP Honors Scholarships

MCAPP Honors Program Scholarships are available for students interested in majoring in Engineering. Scholarships will have a value of up to $7,000 per year for students who meet all financial need qualifications.

MCAPP Incentive Scholarships

MCAPP Incentive Scholarships are available for students with interest in majoring in Engineering but are in need of academic assistance in order to succeed in the field. Scholarships will have a value of up to $7,000 per year for up to two semesters for students who meet all financial need qualifications.


Scholarship Requirements:

  • Complete a Scholarship Application
    (Must indicate Engineering as Major)
  • Submit a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) -
    Must be received in BSCC Financial Aid Office by March 1, 2011
  • Enrolled Full-Time in Engineering
  • COMPASS Placement Score in MTH 112 Pre-calculus Algebra
  • Composite ACT of 20
  • B or C+ average in High School
  • Submit an essay indicating interest and motivation
  • Letter of recommendation from math or science teacher submitted to:

Upon acceptance of the MCAPP Honor Scholarship, students will be members of the MCAPP Honors Program. Current Bevill State students may also apply for MCAPP Honors Scholarships.
