Bevill Basketball

The Bevill State men's basketball program continues to carry on the rich tradition of excellence from the former days of Walker College and Brewer State. From the 1980's and 1990's when Walker College contended for Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) championships on a yearly basis under legendary coach Glen Clem to the ACCC championship days of Bevill State-Fayette in the 2000's, Bevill State basketball coaches and players remain committed to building on this foundation of success.

In March 2009, the Bevill State-Jasper and Bevill State-Fayette men's basketball teams were consolidated into one team which is housed on the Jasper Campus. Coach Rick Bolling, whose teams captured the 2003 and 2004 ACCC Division II basketball championships at Bevill State-Fayette, is in his second stint as the Bear's head coach. During the 2006-2007 season, Bolling's team went 24-7 (14-2 in the ACCC) and won the ACCC regular season Northern Division title.

The Bevill State men's basketball team competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) - Division I and the ACCC. The Bears compete in the regular season against other ACCC Northern Division powerhouses which have won ACCC tournament titles dating back several years.
