The Fayette Campus began as Brewer State Junior College in 1969, taking its name from then governor, the Honorable Albert P. Brewer. The College was first accredited in December 1973 and has enjoyed significant growth over its 23-year history, both in terms of students and facilities. In 1992, Brewer State Junior College merged with Walker State Technical College to form Bevill State Community College.
