Educational Field Trips

  1. Scheduling Field Trips

The Elliott House is pleased to welcome field trips from schools across the state. The life and times of Carl Elliott are an integral part of 20th century Alabama and US History, and a field trip to the Elliott House can be easily integrated into the school curriculum. For more information and lesson plans, see our “Teacher Resources” section.

Advanced notice is required for field trips. To schedule your field trip, please contact the Museum Coordinator at 205-387-0511, Ext. 5718.or email at jmyrick@bscc.edu (Hyperlink email address).  We prefer to accommodate field trips on days which the Museum is open for business, but we can schedule such visits on Wednesdays with ample advanced notice.

Because of the size of the museum, group size must be limited to 30 persons.

For full-day trips, combine a visit to the Elliott House with trips to the Alabama Mining Museum in Dora (Hyperlink that) and the Tallulah Bankhead Collection on the campus of Bevill State Community College. For more information about the Bankhead Collection, contact the Museums Coordinator at 205-387-0511, Ext. 5718.
