Groups and Educational Field Trips

Large Group Reservations

Groups such as women’s clubs, civic clubs, senior groups and others are welcome to visit the home as a group. Upon advanced request, a presentation on the life of Carl Elliott will be provided by museum staff. The Elliott House will open on Wednesdays and weekends for groups of 10 or more by special appointment. To make such appointments, contact the Museum Coordinator. To schedule group visits, please contact the museum at 205-221-6355, or the Museum Coordinator at 205-387-0511, Ext. 5718.

Educational Field Trips

The Elliott House is pleased to welcome field trips from schools across the state. The life and times of Carl Elliott are an integral part of 20th century Alabama and US History, and a field trip to the Elliott House can be easily integrated into the school curriculum.

Advanced notice is required for field trips. To schedule your field trip, please contact the Museum Coordinator at 205-387-0511, Ext. 5718.or email at rwhitten@bscc.edu. We prefer to accommodate field trips on days which the Museum is open for business, but we can schedule such visits on Wednesdays with ample advanced notice. Because of the size of the museum, group size must be limited to 30 persons.

All-Day Trip Recommedations

For full-day trips, combine a visit to the Elliott House with trips to the Alabama Mining Museum in Dora and the Tallulah Bankhead Collection on the campus of Bevill State Community College. For more information about the Bankhead Collection, contact the Museum Coordinator at 205-387-0511, Ext. 5718.
