This transfer policy applies only to students desiring to transfer between ACS institutions. Students wishing to transfer must:
Meet the minimum admission standards for the nursing program.
Possess a grade of “C” or better in all general education courses taken at another institution and possess a 2.0 cumulative GPA or better at time of transfer.
Alabama College System Standardized Nursing Curriculum courses will be transferred without review of the course syllabus.
Individual program directors may admit special/hardship cases at their discretion.
Be able to successfully complete the program:
within 48 months from initial enrollment in courses with a nursing prefix for ADN students; or
within 24 months from initial enrollment in courses with a nursing prefix for PN students.
within 28 months from initial enrollment in NUR 201 for mobility students.
Be a student in good standing and eligible to return to the previous nursing program.
Provide a letter of recommendation from the Dean/Director of the previous program.
Complete at least 25 percent of the nursing program at the accepting institution.
Acceptance of transfer students into nursing programs is limited by the number of faculty and clinical facilities available. Meeting minimal standards does not guarantee acceptance.
Applicants must possess certain physical and mental abilities to meet the required essential functions of the nursing program. A list of Essential Functions is available in the nursing office or www.bscc.edu.
