To provide and maintain physical facilities which are adequate to house the collections and provide space for users to be able to fully use the services and materials within the library/learning resources center.

To provide access to an electronic catalog of materials, organized according to nationally recognized and accepted standards, which includes access to other indexes and full-text materials and provides a gateway to a wide variety of external resources.

To provide a well-organized collection of books, periodicals, audiovisual and electronic media which meets the instructional needs of students and faculty in order to support the courses, programs and degrees offered.

To provide to a broader range of materials through the development of borrowing agreements with other local institutions.

To provide reference and information services using a variety of current resources materials.

To provide instruction in the use of libraries and research techniques in order to develop information literacy among the student body for empowerment as students and for a future of life-long learning.

To provide competent professionals and support staff in adequate numbers to meet the needs of faculty and students.

To regularly evaluate library services for student and faculty needs and the programs and purposes of BSCC.

To ensure access to the library’s collection by all students and faculty regardless of location and method of program delivery.

To provide for the efficient circulation of appropriate library materials to all students and faculty regardless of location.

To establish and maintain a funding formula that would bring BSCC Libraries in line with the recommendations of the ACRL standards for two-year college libraries.
