About AMTC

Bevill State Community College has established the Alabama Mining Training Consortium (AMTC) to address the needs of Alabama’s mining industry for mid-level and advanced technicians.

Bevill State is a public milti-campus institution with four main campuses (Sumiton, Fayette, Jasper, Hamilton and Carrollton) and multiple instructional sites that serve over one-quarter million people in a seven-county area of West Alabama. The College has established a strategic partnership with the mining industry, the WIA North Alabama Skills Training Consortium, and the Walker County School System to develop a program designed both to meet the immediate needs of the companies for mining workers and to create a pipeline of future skilled workers.

Utilization of the AMTC program will ensure Bevill State as the leading provider of training for the mining industry throughout the state and in the Appalachian region.
