Have an event or program to promote to other members of the campus community? Have news to share about student, faculty or alumni awards and achievements? Submit a news article to be considered for publication on the Bevill State Community College web site.
Article Guidelines
The lead of a news story, typically the first paragraph, should provide a clear and concise overview of the main point(s) (who, what, when, where, how and why), thereby conveying to the reader what he or she will be learning about in the article. The content of a news story should be unbiased, and completely fact-based. Quotes can be a wonderful tool, when used appropriately. Sources of information should be clearly cited and integrated into the piece. Sentences should be clear, concise and worded in a manner that is appropriate for the audience.
Types of Articles that Will Not Be Accepted:
- Specialized information for too narrow an audience
- Commercial announcements, such as rental property, private-business offerings, sale of items (i.e books, educational supplies, and personal materials) to third parties, etc.
- News from other organizations or colleges that do not directly pertain to Bevill State.
- Messages or material that is of questionable taste, has the potential to be divisive, or does not further the mission of the college.
The college reserves the right to decline to publish submissions that do not meet these guidelines.
