Bevill State announces 2015 tour of Greece

Bevill State Community College announces its 2015 overseas educational trip scheduled for May 17-25, 2015 to Greece. The trip is open to students and community members across the college’s service area.
For admirers of architecture, organized sport, theater, philosophy and great food, the 2015 Greece trip will be an unforgettable adventure. The third overseas educational tour offered by the college is a nine-day itinerary that includes visits to Athens, Delphi, Patras, Olympia, Argolida, Epidaurus, Mycenae and the Saronic Islands. In addition, an optional four-day extension to cruise the Greek and Turkish islands of Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Rhodes and Santorini is available to travelers.
The cost of the trip is approximately $3,500 and includes roundtrip airfare from Birmingham, seven overnight stays in hotels with private bathrooms, breakfast daily, one lunch, four local dinners, a full-time tour director, ground and water transportation, guided tours, and admission costs for included attractions. The optional four-day cruise is an additional $679 and includes three meals daily and accommodations on the boat. Tour arrangements are made through educational tour provider EF College Study Tours. Monthly payment plans are available for those who are interested. The itinerary for the trip includes:
Day 1: Fly to Greece.
Day 2: Arrive in Athens - take a walking tour of Athens, see the Temple of Zeus.
Day 3: Athens - tour the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, visit a local university.
Day 4: Saronic Islands - see the Temple of Aphaia, the clocktower at Poros, the coastal town of Hydra on a full-day cruise of the Saronic Islands.
Day 5: Delphi/Patras - visit the archaeological site around the Oracle of Delphi and the Temple of Apollo. Travel to Patras.
Day 6: Olympia/Argolida - take an excursion to Olympia, site of the first Olympic Games. Travel to Argolida.
Day 7: Epidaurus/Mycenae/Athens - travel to Epidaurus on the Saronic Gulf and see the Sanctuary of Asclepius, an UNESCO world heritage site. Continue to Mycenae, the former kingdom of Agamemnon. Return to Athens with a stop at the Corinth Canal.
Day 8: Free time in Athens.
Day 9: Depart for home.
