As a graduate of the Diesel Technology program at Bevill State, you will have a wide array of career opportunities to pursue. Among the various occupations our graduates are qualified to seek are technician positions at electric power plants, marine engine dealerships, farm tractor and equipment dealerships, truck engine dealerships, rail and locomotive repair shops, and construction equipment dealerships. The majority of graduates from the Bevill State Diesel Technology program move into the field as technicians with particular areas of expertise.

A diesel mechanic repairs and maintains diesel engines used to power machines such as buses, ships, trucks, railroad trains, electric generators, and construction machinery.

A certificate in Diesel Technology can provide you with the foundation on which a rewarding career can be built. According to labor statistics, the number of technician positions is expected to grow faster than average due to the increasing number of trucks to transport freight. The placement rate of graduates of the Bevill State Diesel Technology program has been higher than 75% in recent years, with many students obtaining employment prior to graduation.
 
 
Training and Experience are Rewarded
With quality educational training and experience, former students of the Diesel Technology program at Bevill State can make up to $50,000 per year. Depending on the location of employment, graduates generally start at $10-$15 per hour and with a few years of experience can earn between $20-$25 per hour.
