English

The College offers an Associate in Arts in Pre-English for those interested in pursuing a degree in English or Language Arts in Secondary Education or the College of Arts and Science.

Majoring in English helps students to develop in a variety of ways that include more than knowing about language and literature. English majors learn to think critically, to respond clearly, to analyze concisely, and to communicate their thoughts and ideas effectively, especially in writing. Having these skills, which students can begin to develop as pre-English majors, gives them the opportunity to do almost anything. The field of English provides a variety of occupational choices for those planning to major in this discipline. The following are only a few of the possible career choices available, and the salaries listed below are an average and vary depending on educational level and professional experience.
