Laboratory Phlebotomy courses are designed to train individuals to properly collect and handle blood specimens for laboratory testing
and to interact with health care personnel, patients, and the general public. The courses are designed to prepare individuals to take the Clinical Laboratory Phlebotomist Examination.

Job opportunities are expected to be excellent, because the number of job openings is expected to continue to exceed the number of job seekers. Employment of clinical laboratory workers is expected to grow faster than average for all occupations through the year 2014, as the volume of laboratory tests continues to increase with both population growth and the development of new types of tests.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants must possess a GED or high school diploma, and complete all general application requirements. Prior to clinical placement the student must show proof of hospitalization insurance.
