6 Week Progam. Classes meet Monday - Friday. Weekend classes are not offered.
Industry experts agree that Bevill State's Truck Driver Training Program is one of the most comprehensive in the nation. Labor statistics indicate the demand for trained truck drivers will continue to grow rapidly. In the years ahead, tens of thousands of additional truck driving jobs will be created. By successfully completing Bevill State's Truck Driver Training Program, you will be prepared to enter this challenging career field.
Our teachers are not just former truck drivers. They are professionally accredited educators who have years of truck driving and teaching experience and are dedicated to helping you succeed.
Due to the short duration of the Truck Driving program, it is not eligible for the payment plan. All Truck Driving classes must be paid in full before classes begin.
Prospective students must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver's license, with a driving record free of violations which may hinder or prevent employment as a truck driver. Students should obtain information from trucking companies concerning individual requirements for employment. In addition, each applicant should be of good character, mentally alert, physically qualified, and able to read and write the English language.
Students interested in enrolling should contact the College as soon as possible. Because of the great demand for training, the Admissions Office registers students approximately one month in advance. Students who request admission in an earlier class are placed on stand-by and enrolled as vacancies occur. All students will be asked to verify enrollment by mail approximately two weeks prior to the class.
Upon receipt of the Application for Admission, tuition and fees, or specifically documented ability to benefit by successful completion of the COMPASS or other assessments, your name will be placed on the designated roster. Refunds will be made to those requesting cancellation and those that are not accepted into the program. Department of Transportation regulations require all truck driving students undergo drug screening. Since the test will be conducted on the first day of class by an independent health service and not Bevill State, you must be prepared to pay the $40 drug test fee (cash only) and $60 DOT Physical (cash only). Students testing positive for drugs will be dropped from class.
