Financial Aid

To apply for Federal Financial Aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. Please use the information on this page to assist you with completing the financial aid process at Bevill State Community College.

1. Complete a Bevill State Community College Application. 

2. Apply for Federal Financial Aid:

  • Apply for your FSA ID at StudentAid.gov.
  • Your FSA ID is your electronic signature for the FAFSA and renewal FAFSA. It is also used to access your online financial aid history, student aid report (SAR) and make corrections to your FAFSA. Your FSA ID is your electronic signature; keep it in a safe place. Parents of dependent students must also have their own FSA ID to sign the FAFSA electronically.
  • Complete the FAFSA at StudentAid.gov.
  • Bevill State Community College’s School Code is 005733.
  • For fastest processing time, students should complete the application online and submit an electronic signature using their PIN. It is possible to interrupt an application session by saving the application and returning later using the information provided on the site.

3. Complete Verification Process (if required):

  • Applicants selected by the Federal Central Processing System for verification must provide additional documentation to the college.
  • To submit the documentation log into MyBSCC and follow the steps below:
    • Click Open Student Dashboard
    • Click Financial Aid Dashboard
    • Select appropriate Award Year
    • The forms needed to complete your file will be listed under unsatisfied requirements. Click each form listed and you will be directed to the form required to complete verification. Please make sure you complete all forms and requirements listed under unsatisfied requirements.

To authorize and accept Title IV Authorization

  • Log into MyBSCC and follow steps below:

    • Click Open Student Dashboard
    • Click Financial Aid Dashboard
    • Select appropriate Award Year
    • You will have Responses Required and will see Questions from the Financial Aid Office.
    • Select View Questions
    • You will be able to select Authorize or Decline
      • Please note that to charge books to Title IV aid (Pell Grant) in the Bevill State Bookstore you must select Authorize.
  • To accept Terms and Condition

    • Log into MyBSCC and follow steps below:

      • Click Open Student Dashboard
      • Click Financial Aid Dashboard
      • Select appropriate Award Year
      • Select Award Offer
      • Click the Confirm Button
      • Check the box beside the acknowledgment statement
      • Click Accept Award to satisfy Terms and Conditions requirement

Failure to submit all requested documentation and requirements in a timely manner will delay your award offer and financial aid payments

If you are selected for Verification and a Tax Return Transcript is required, you will need to order one from the IRS. It takes 7 - 10 days to receive this document.

4. Apply for Federal Work Study Program (if interested):

5. Apply Aid to your Student Account:

  • Register for courses each semester during the registration period.

  • Get your books. Books can be charged to financial aid in the bookstore beginning 10 days prior to the first day of class each semester.

  • Financial aid disbursements require documented attendance from each course instructor. Be sure to review the course syllabus and complete attendance and/or participation requirements for each course during the first week of the semester to ensure timely aid disbursements. Financial aid awards may be reduced for non-attendance. Attend every class and/or complete all required online course assignments throughout the semester.

  • Authorized aid will retain your course schedule until the Business Office posts funds to student accounts. If you have a credit balance of federal funds after paying all charges you will be issued a refund within 14 days of the credit appearing on your account.

6. Get your Refund

  • Students should sign up for eRefunds in Touchnet. Instructions on signing up for eRefunds.

  • Students who do not select to participate in eRefunds will be required to pick up refund checks in the business office on the Jasper Campus.
