Alabama Student Assistance Program

The Alabama Student Assistance Program (ASAP) is a grant program offered by the state of Alabama. Funds are awarded to eligible Alabama residents who demonstrate need and who are enrolled at least half time. Students must be eligible for Federal Pell Grant to be considered for the ASAP grant. There is no special application for these funds; completion of the FAFSA is all that is required to apply for ASAP. Funds are very limited for this program. Students must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for ASAP. The maximum ASAP award a student may receive per academic year at the college is $600.

Bevill State encourages Direct Deposit (eRefunds) for all students to receive their Financial Aid and Tuition refunds. eRefunds eliminate the chance of a check getting lost, misdirected, delayed during delivery, or misplaced once it is received. Refunds will be available must quicker as they are not mailed and deposit directly into the student’s bank account eliminating the need to physically visit a bank to make a deposit. There are no fees from Bevill State for using eRefunds. Students that do not select to participate in eRefunds will be required to pick up refund checks in the business office on the Jasper Campus.
