Bevill State “Welcome Back” Laptop Program

As a special enrollment incentive for current and future Bevill State students, and to welcome everyone back for on-campus classes and activities for the Spring 2021 semester, the College is offering a drawing for one laptop at each of its five locations.

The college will award one Lenovo ThinkPad to a Spring 2021 registered student at each location of Bevill State - Fayette, Hamilton, Jasper, Sumiton, and the Pickens County Educational Center. 

Here are the Details for the Drawing:

  • Any full-time student, those registering for 12 hours, for Spring 2021
  • Any current and potential student who enrolls for Spring 2021 by December 4, 2020 will have their names entered in the drawing twice, doubling their chance to win! 
  • The college will announce winners on January 15, 2021.
  • Winners must have a “Zero Balance” – no holds or outstanding balances - on their student account
  • Winners must be in Good Academic Standing as described here in the 2020-21 BSCC Catalog. 
  • Winners must register for, and complete 12 semester hours for Spring 2021, or forfeit their awarded laptop. 

Community Scholarship

Those eligible receive six hours of FREE tuition when they pay for six hours

The new Community Scholarship for Spring 2021 is available to individuals who are currently employed at a business or in an industry and who wish to continue their education and training.  It is also open to individuals who have lost or left jobs due to their employer closing or moving; because there was insufficient work for them to do; or if their position or shift was abolished. These individuals must not currently be enrolled at Bevill State Community College and meet the pre-requisites for any class(es) he or she enrolls. These individuals would be required to file a FAFSA and must qualify for in-state tuition.  This scholarship is used only after all applicable grants and scholarships have been applied to tuition.   

The minimum number of hours a student must register for and pay for to receive the Community Scholarship is six hours – meaning a student must register for at least six hours and would receive six hours for free, not including applicable fees.   

To receive the Community Scholarship, eligible students must complete the Community Scholarship Application Form below and email it to and include current and/or former verification of employment as applicable.  The scholarship application deadline is December 9, 2020.
