The BSCC Career Pathways Academy will expose high school students to job training for industry settings through an innovative career academy approach. Students in Fayette, Marion, Walker, north Tuscaloosa counties, Corner, and Meek High Schools will encounter new career pathways and industry opportunities through exposure to career fairs, exploration camps, and industry-relevant training.

The Career Academy scholarships will be offered annually (each spring) on a competitive basis and provide all tuition, fees, books, and supplies. Admission will be decided by application including references and resume. And if needed Interviews with qualified applicants. Students accepted into the program will participate in a mandatory Robotics Camp the summer before their Junior year. Prior to their senior year, students will participate in a Career Exploration Camp where they will tour various industries throughout the summer.
Participation in the BSCC Career Pathways Academy is open to currently enrolled high school sophomores in Fayette, Marion, Walker, north Tuscaloosa counties, Corner and Meek High Schools who complete a Career Pathways Academy application by April 30, 2024, and have at least a 3.0-grade point average. The selection process is competitive and limited to 20 participants between three campuses.
Robotics Camp will be held on the Sumiton Campus on June 17- 21, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Exhibition and Scholarship Signing, June 22, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Parents, principals, and counselors are invited to attend an exhibition of what their son or daughter has learned during Robotics Camp. A formal scholarship signing and lunch will follow.
Admission to the Career Pathways Academy is competitive and will be decided by an application process including references and a resume. Applicants meeting the necessary qualifications must be interviewed by Bevill State and industry representatives. Applications must be received by April 30, 2024.
